Author: [livejournal.com profile] ceres_libera
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: Kirk/McCoy, others
Warnings: None
Word Count: ~4000
Characters: Established McCoy/Kirk, with appearances by a raft of ST:XI characters, a couple of OCs, and some shamelessly stolen TOS/book canon characters.

Summary: Leo and Jim celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. A very, very, very belated Switchverse fill of a prompt from [livejournal.com profile] abigail89 for the Jim and Bones comm's Anniversary Challenge.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] ceres_libera
Rating: R (for language and sexual expression)
Pairings: Kirk/McCoy, Spock/Uhura, others
Warnings: None
Word Count: ~4900 for this part
Characters: Established McCoy/Kirk, with appearances by a raft of ST:XI characters, and a few OCs.
Summary: Gaila has lost her family before. She will not lose another one, not without a fight.

Author’s Note: So … a bit more difficult to get back in the swing of writing when work is a bit of a disaster, but still … better late than never! As before, I note that Family is the long-missing third story in the Switch-verse, and I don’t suppose that what happens in Fidelity (or Family II) , the upcoming fifth story, will make much sense otherwise. You don’t have to be familiar with the previous stories, but it will most likely help. This is a story written from Gaila’s POV, and will likely be 2-3 more parts. I think.

Author’s Note: Happy New Year! One of my resolutions is to get myself back into the habit of writing after a too long fallow period. Switch verse, based in the ST:XI universe, but strongly influenced by all canon ST-verses. I am, of course, tempted to say that it will be between three and five parts, but ... I make no promises.

ETA This will update onto AO3 later today when I get home from the family gathering for which I'm currently late.

Summary: The life and times of Leonard H. McCoy MD/PhD continues on, in ways he had never contemplated as remotely possible. Nearing the end of their first five year mission, Leo takes Jim home to Georgia for Christmas 2262 which falls just before Jim’s 30th birthday. Written for [livejournal.com profile] space_wrapped for prompt #46, which asked for Christmas at the McCoy family home, sap and lots of it.

Author’s Note: Switch verse, based in the ST:XI universe, but strongly influenced by all canon ST-verses. Lazarus is the fourth story in the Switch-verse, and yes, there is a story missing, sorry! You don’t have to be familiar with the previous stories, but it will probably help.

I feel rather silly posting this, but since it's one of the most common questions I receive, I decided to risk looking silly. Switch is now available as a download in one go. Warning: this is an almost 500 page long file in most e-formats: Switch at the AO3, and I almost broke the AO3 trying to upload it in three parts to conform to their character limits. However, it's there, and I believe that it works, so ... have at it! The Masterpost has also been updated.

ETA: If you downloaded before 2:00 GMT on March 7, 2011, you should go back and grab it again. There were html errors everywhere. Sorry! Also, if you see more mistakes, please let me know.

Title: "Touch 2/2"
Author: [livejournal.com profile] ceres_libera
Rating: R to NC-17
Characters: Kirk/McCoy
Canon: ST:XI/AOS-verse, but strongly influenced by all canon ST-verses.
Disclaimers: It all belongs to Paramount, JJ Abrams, and the great Roddenberry. Except for this story, which is all me.

Summary: However, as far as touch was concerned? He was a connoisseur. In fact, in some circles, Jim Kirk was considered a bit of a savant on the subject … until he met the exception. Because there's always an exception to prove the rule. Touch is a Switchverse-inverse story.

Notes: Touch is a Switchverse-inverse story, and builds on that story, so some things may make more sense if you've read it. It takes place a few months after the Switch: Epilogue, on or about the 4th month of 2259, or a year after the Enterprise begins its five-year mission. Sorry guys, but this is a discrete story, although it will build into the next Switch-verse story, which is mission-based. No promises on how long that one will be. Or, you know, when it will start.

I originally intended this story to be posted as a one-shot, but then I decided that posting a WIP would be fine, and might even help me with breaking through some writer’s block. Still, this story is likely to be only 2-3 parts, no 50 chapters plus Epilogue epics.

I think.

P.S. I'm looking for icons of Bones touching Jim. Clues?

Or, well, the editors. That is to say, [livejournal.com profile] between_names, [livejournal.com profile] extrabitter and [livejournal.com profile] taverl -- if you're still hanging around these parts, please feel free to wield your metaphorical red pens and have at it. I've finally put in all of my changes on all 459 pages and 234,006 words of Switch.

:: whew ::

I tried to get everything, but ... I doubt I have. I've noticed that I've got a problem with things like saying padd in one place and PADD in another, changing character names (Ivanova/Federova) or spellings (Jindal/Jindahl) and stuff like that. So, please be on the lookout. Also, if anyone else wants to pipe up with typoes, weirdnesses, etc., now would be the time.

Also, does anyone have any idea how I change the Word .doc, which was written with lj's coding in it, (i.e., <> these guys) so that it becomes bolds and italics and not the carats that currently litter the text. I've tried making it an html doc, but that doesn't work, and I'd really hate to have to strip out 459 pages of code littered throughout the text and manually replace it with bold and italics. So, help?

Finally -- I'm working on a little something from Jim's point-of-view, set in the Switch-verse, a few weeks after the epilogue. It's called Touch, and now that I've finally, finally finished the first pass of editing on Switch, I'm free to actually write down the ideas that have been roiling in my brain for the past few weeks. I knew I needed to finish one thing (mostly) before starting another, so I've been strict with myself.

Anyway -- Happy Easter to those who celebrate it, Happy Passover to those who have already celebrated, and Happy Spring to my Northern Hemisphere compadres.

Summary: The life and times of Leonard H. McCoy MD/PhD … If Leonard McCoy's life could get any fucking weirder, it would be … Jesus, he didn't even want to think what that could possibly mean, because it's already been too fucking weird to make any kind of rational sense.
Canon: Based in the ST:XI universe, but strongly influenced by all canon ST-verses.
Characters: McCoy/Kirk, with eventual appearances by all other ST:XI characters.
Notes: My friends, it's been an incredible journey. Thank you all for encouraging and challenging me throughout it. This whole experience has been a joy for me -- even as verbose as I am, I'll never be able to adequately sum it up.

I'll be going back to edit and clean-up the previous 50 parts, before I undertake the writing of a post-lude story.

Heck, I'm even kicking around an idea of another story (set in the Switch-verse) from Jim's perspective. Any ideas?

P.S. Those of you who have volunteered to edit this monster? Give me a week or so to put in the edits I already have before you start. (Any and all input welcome, by the way.)

P.P.S. [livejournal.com profile] mintcloud? I hope that you'll belay those threats of violence, since I did as you asked!

P.P.S. Semi-final word and page counts? Oh, about 231,420 words, and 453 pages for [livejournal.com profile] meewunk to roll around in. Until I finish editing, that is.

P3.S. Whoops! Sorry for the cut-fail!

In any case, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your love and support over these past six+ months. You have no idea how much it's meant to me. And remember: the epilogue is still to come. And then, there's that post-lude story idea that I'm kicking around.
