Oh, this is just utterly perfect and lovely and just ... so ... very YES. I love fics where Bones faces off with a Spock (any Spock, really) for any reason where it's to do with Jim's welfare, and this was just perfect, utterly, utterly perfect-- as was Jim's worry that Bones was the one needing protection and his instinctive understanding that Bones needed a bit of assurance himself during that confrontation.
