as always, this update was lovely. I'm really enjoying seeing some conclusion brought to some of your accessory characters. You've created a richly detailed world, and I enjoy reading it every time you update. The details in this chapter are no different: I love that Pike has to spell out politics for Leo, the hints of Chapel/Pike, Scotty waving his sandwich (gosh, he must love his sandwiches now), a bit of emergence to the start of a friendship that I always saw between Bones and Spock in TOS, not matter how much they butt heads.
Someone above me commented about a couple of texts alerting them to the update, and I feel like you should know you have more than one group of readers doing that-- of course, my alert came to my phone via twitter, but, uh, I definitely cut an afternoon nap short to read it, and um, before I started working on a paper due this week... and I doubt I'm the only one. :D
that's a long winded way of saying that, as much as you're doing an amazing job starting to wrap this piece up, I really, really hope you continue writing in the STXI universe, because you're remarkably good at it.
