I'm not a member of this fandom atall; this is the first fic I've read in it, but I grew up with Star Trek and I loved the Reboot, so I decided to click the rec link I found in a comm thread over on jf.
I love long stories with good development and slow building of relationships, and this was exquisitely done on all fronts. Even your secondary characters were treated with a deft hand. It's a real treat to read something that draws someone in so entirely. Also, I really appreciated your delightful Southern details. So very true, and made me a bit nostalgic.
There's so much I want to say about this story; all the laughter and sniffles I had while reading, all the wonderful banter and in-character interpersonal relationships--I just loved it.
I'll be reccing this myself, because I think people who enjoy excellent storytelling should know about this fic, even if it isn't their fandom.
